Amnesty International has criticised the level of investment in mental health services in Ireland.

The organisation said services for the mentally ill in Ireland were of a poor standard due to long-running under-investment.

Amnesty is holding a conference in Dublin today to discuss the matter.

The conference is being held to coincide with International Human Rights Day.
