New flu hitting young worst, figures show
Children and young adults are the most susceptible to a new deadly strain of flu, according to the latest details to emerge from the National Virus Reference Laboratory.
Last week, an 18-month-old baby became the first victim of the Influenza A virus.
Figures show that of the 111 respiratory specimens which tested positive over the last week, 24 were in the ages of up to 4 years and 15 cases were between the ages of 5 to 14.
Twenty-two positive specimens were in the 15 to 24 age bracket.
