IT closure leads to 173 job losses

One of the countries leading IT companies has announced that it is to close with the loss of 173 jobs.

Thomson NETg, which is based in Co Limerick, will shut its doors on March 12.

The Limerick base is being consolidated into the company's other operations.

The Global IT situation is being blamed for the closure.

The jobs will be phased out between January and March.
