SVP: Budget should help children

The head of the St Vincent de Paul charity is calling on the Government to use the forthcoming budget to help disadvantaged children.

The charity says thousands of Irish people are now struggling because of Government policy and budget decisions in the past.

Vice-president of St Vincent de Paul John Monaghan says the December budget should be used to take the less well-off in from the margins of Irish society and to focus on helping children.
