Gardaí hunt violent raider in Galway

Gardaí in Salthill in Co Galway are appealing for information in connection with a violent robbery on an elderly woman today.

At around 3.30pm, a man called to a house at Freeport in Barna where he tied up a 76-year-old female and stole cash and credit cards.

As he was leaving the house, two relatives of the woman confronted him. He threatened the family members and ran towards Silver Strand near Galway City.

The man is described as 5’10'' with jet black hair.

He is described as between the ages of 25 and 30 years.
