Gardaí in Dublin have named the mother and daughter who were found dead in their home in the Stoneybatter area yesterday morning.

The victims were the mother and sister of jazz singer Honor Heffernan.

Bridget Heffernan, 76, and her 39-year-old daughter Fiona, were found dead in the house in Kirwan Cottages by a relative at around 10am yesterday.

Gardaí believe their deaths were probably the result of a carbon monoxide build-up caused by a faulty heating system.
