Clarification - Merck KGaA

In an article published yesterday about the plan by Merck Laboratories to cut 4,400 jobs worldwide, Merck Laboratories was incorrectly identified as the owner of Gerard Laboratories in Baldoyle, Co Dublin.

Gerard Laboratories is in fact owned by Merck KGaA, an entirely separate company which is planning to expand the Baldoyle plant with a €40m investment which could lead to the creation of 380 new jobs.
