Baby girl abandoned outside Cork hospital

Gardaí in Co Cork are investigating the discovery of an abandoned three-day-old girl in the grounds of the city’s South Infirmary Hospital yesterday.

The baby was found in a holdall bag that had been left by the boot of a car parked near the front of the hospital.

Doctors said the girl was in good health and is currently stable and comfortable.

Gardaí have appealed for the baby’s mother to come forward.
