Crucial talks between Ulster Unionist leader, David Trimble and Sinn Féin's Gerry Adams were adjourned last night with no sign of a deal to restore devolution.

The discussions centred on IRA disarmament and securing a commitment from unionists to support the devolution of policing and justice to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
