Budget 'should be more generous than last year'

Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy was urged today by an economic think tank to make this year’s budget more generous than the last.

The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) said the aim of the December budget should be to get the economy back towards its potential growth rate.
