Family escape injury in Bangor shooting

A man, a woman and two teenage boys escaped injury when a shot was fired through the living room window of the family home, in the Westmoreland area of Bangor last night.

A man, a woman and two teenage boys escaped injury when a shot was fired through the living room window of their family home, in the Westmoreland area of Bangor last night, around midnight.

They were upstairs in their home when the shot was fired.

Earlier an explosion took place at a phone box at Ashley Gardens in Bangor.

Police say a type of improvised device had been placed on top of the kiosk.

It went off around midnight, scattering glass and debris over a 30-yard area, but no one was injured.
