Homeowners 'must be aware of fire risks'

The National Safety Council is repeating its call for homeowners to be more aware of the risks of fire.

According to research, owning a smoke alarm reduces the risk of death in a fire by 50%.

The important message coincides with the start of Fire Safety Week.
