Bomb disposal experts have defused an explosive device planted outside a Catholic grammar school in the North.

The device was found at the gates of the Dominican College in north Belfast this morning.

It was most likely planted by loyalist paramilitaries, who have been engaged in an ongoing campaign of intimidation against Catholic schoolchildren in the North.

Loyalist pipe-bombs have been planted outside several Catholic schools in Co Derry and Co Antrim over the past couple of weeks.
