Unions representing workers at the Braun plant in Carlow are due to resume talks with company management today in an effort to avoid up to 600 lay-offs.

Unions representing workers at the Braun plant in Carlow are due to resume talks with company management today in an effort to avoid up to 600 lay-offs.

Braun placed around 600 of its 750 staff in Carlow on protective notice earlier this week as part of an industrial relations dispute.

The company made the move after a number of employees began refusing to work overtime as part of the dispute over redundancy payments.
