Landslides likely to happen again, say Mayo County Council

Residents living at the foot of Doocartin Mountain in north Mayo where landslides occurred on Friday night have been told it's likely to happen again.

Mayo County Council told householders at a meeting in the area this afternoon they should evacuate their homes, due to the continuing risk.

Teams of geologists are on the mountain this afternoon and are carrying out further investigations.
