Group highlights problem of depression among elderly

The Irish Association of Suicidology has called for greater recognition of the problem of depression among the elderly.

Figures quoted at the association’s annual conference in Limerick over the weekend showed that around 12% of suicide victims in Ireland are over the age of 60.
