Coroner re-opens inquest into Monaghan bombing

The inquest into the deaths of six people who died in the Monaghan bombing in 1974 has been re-opened by the Dublin city coroner.

He has already re-opened the inquest into the deaths of the 26 victims of the Dublin bombing on the same day, and that of another person who died in hospital following the Monaghan blast.

The investigation into the 2 bombings will now take place along with the inquests into two other bombings in Dublin in 1972 and 1973.

Margaret Urwin, of the Justice for the Forgotten Group, says this should have happened a long time ago.
