DPP member resigns after death threat

An independent member of the district policing partnership in Fermanagh has resigned after receiving death threats from dissident republicans.

An independent member of the district policing partnership in Fermanagh has resigned after receiving death threats from dissident republicans.

In a statement last night, Cathal O’Dolan said he had no alternative to resign after the threat was made to a local newspaper during the week.

Mr O’Dolan said the death threat had put him and his family in an impossible position.

Members of other district policing partnerships throughout the North are believed to have received similar threats in recent weeks and months.
