Ahern welcomes outline of Independent Monitoring Commission

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has welcomed the British government’s proposed framework for the Independent Monitoring Commission being established in the North.

Mr Ahern said the purpose of the body was to give confidence to all sides of the community in the North and ensure that the Good Friday Agreement was being implemented by all parties.
