INTO seeks language classes for non-national children

The Irish National Teachers Organisation has called on the Government to provide extra funding for special English language teaching for the children of refugees and immigrants.

John Carr, the general secretary of the organisation, said special language classes were needed to ensure that children with imperfect English were not at a disadvantage in Irish society.
