Gardaí question man over Dublin shooting

Gardaí in Dublin are continuing to question a 19-year-old man in connection with the shooting of an 18 year-old girl in Dublin yesterday.

The victim, Christina Ward, suffered a shotgun-wound to her leg when two gunmen entered her caravan at a halting site in Ringsend.

Ms Ward's family said she was trying to protect her boyfriend by blocking the line of fire.

In doing so, she was sustained a bullet wound in the lower right leg.

Her injuries are not life threatening.

Gardaí are investigating the possibility that the shooting is part of an ongoing feud between travellers.
