Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams is confident his party can win one of Northern Ireland's three European parliament seats next year.

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams is confident his party can win one of Northern Ireland's three European parliament seats next year.

Mr Adams has confirmed party chairman Mitchell McLaughlin has not forwarded his name to next month's Sinn Fein convention for next year's election.

However, he insisted either of the prospective candidates, former Stormont Health Minister Bairbre de Brún and Dungannon councillor Francie Molloy, would be a capable replacement.
