Women's Aid, the organisation that works with women suffering from domestic violence, has released figures showing that 92 women have been murdered in Ireland since 1996.

Women's Aid, the organisation that works with women suffering from domestic violence, has released figures showing that 92 women have been murdered in Ireland since 1996.

The group said all of the murders were carried out by men and 62 happened in the victims' homes.

The latest killing was an apparent murder-suicide in Co Roscommon on Sunday.

Brian Flynn, 57, allegedly shot his wife at their home in Donamon before turning the gun on himself.
