One-parent family booklet to be launched

Mary Coughlan, the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, is due to launch an information booklet for single parents later today.

The 120-page book provides details on family law, income supports, tax and sources of other information and support.

It was compiled by groups who work with single parents in association with Minister Coughlan's department.

Recent figures showed that almost one-third of all births in Ireland occur outside marriage.
