Limerick gardaí extend detention of man

Gardaí tonight extended the period for questioning a man held in Limerick as part of investigations into the activities of the Continuity IRA dissident terrorist group and links with local gangland feuding.

The man was detained yesterday under the terms of anti-terrorist legislation permitting suspects to be kept in custody for up to 72 hours before being either charged or released.
