Govt issues breast-feeding advice

The Department of Health has asked breast-feeding mothers not to introduce other food to their babies' diets until they are six months old.

The request is part of a programme designed to bring Ireland into line with recommendations contained in the World Health Organisation's global strategy on the feeding of infants and young children.
