Four people have already been killed on the nation's roads this bank holiday weekend.

The victims include 18-month-old Katie Clarges, of Loughlinstown in Co Dublin, who died following a collision between a lorry and the car she was travelling in on Saturday morning in Co Wexford. Her brother Connell is still in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.

Daniel Carrie, an 18-year-old male, died in a motorcycle accident near Navan, Co Meath, on Friday morning.

An 80-year-old man died when his car collided with a lorry at Rathcormac, Co Cork on Saturday morning, and another motorcyclist was killed near Adare, Co Limerick Saturday evening.

Meanwhile gardaí around the country continue their bank holiday campaign to clamp down on offending motorists as part of Operation Taisteal.
