Talks begin in effort to save Belfast jobs
Unions representing workers at the Bombardier Shorts aerospace firm in Belfast are due to meet management today in an effort to save more than 1,000 jobs.
The two sides are due to discuss a pay deal to prevent the planned lay off of 1,050 workers.
In May, 60% of the company's 5,700-strong workforce voted against a four-year pay deal negotiated by their unions.
Management had warned that rejection of the deal would force the company to cut 1,050 jobs.
