CIE unions threaten more action
Union leaders with CIE last night threatened more action after they claimed the 'no fares' protest was successful.
The protest is thought to have cost CIE companies an estimated €1.2m.
It is now thought that only 60 people were refused access to trains yesterday as drivers at Heuston went ahead with protests over the Minister for Transport's plans to break up and privatise sections of CIE.
It is now thought that union leaders will pick up their campaign over the coming summer - weeks after letting travellers board vehicles and trains free yesterday.
