Gardaí name Finglas shotgun victim

Gardaí in Dublin have named the man found dead in the city yesterday as 30-year-old Victor Murphy, from Deanstown Green in Finglas.

Mr Murphy's body was found on Dunsink Lane in Finglas yesterday.

He had died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives believe Mr Murphy may have died when a shotgun he was carrying went off accidentally, but they have not ruled out the possibility that he was murdered.

The victim's blood was found in a stolen car that was abandoned around half a mile from where the body was discovered.
