Gardaí identify man found dead in Finglas

Gardaí in Dublin have identified the man whose body was found in Finglas yesterday morning.

Detectives believe the 30-year-old man, who was from the area, died when a shotgun he was carrying went off accidentally, but they have not ruled out the possibility that he was murdered.

The victim's blood was found in a stolen car that was abandoned around half a mile from where the body was discovered in Dunsink Lane early yesterday.

The dead man's name will not be released until a positive identification takes place later today.
