Gardaí investigate death of man by gunshot

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in the Finglas area this morning.

The body was found at around 5.20am on Dunsink Lane. Gardai said it appeared the victim, who was in his late 20s or early 30s and has yet to be identified, died from a single gunshot wound.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.

Gardaí said they were also examining a car found in nearby Berryfield Road with bloodstains inside it.
