More than 33,000 motorists have received penalty points since the scheme was introduced last November, according to figures released by Transport Minister Seamus Brennan.

More than 33,000 motorists have received penalty points since the scheme was introduced last November, according to figures released by Transport Minister Seamus Brennan.

The minister said 32,500 drivers had received two points on their licence, 751 had received four points, 29 had received six points and three motorists had accumulated eight points.
