Westport named Ireland's best kept town

The Department of the Environment and the Northern Ireland Amenity Council have named Westport, Co Mayo as Ireland's best kept town.

The Department of the Environment and the Northern Ireland Amenity Council have named Westport, Co Mayo as Ireland's best kept town.

Rathbarry in Co Cork was named best kept village, while Hollywood in Co Down won the best kept large town award.

Westport also won the best kept small town award.

Each of the three winning towns will receive a cheque for €3,200, with Westport receiving an additional €3,200 for winning the overall award.
