Trocaire urges Govt to tackle poverty at EU level

Trocaire has called on the Government to use its presidency of the EU later this year to press for implementation of the so-called "millennium development goals".

The document, signed by all EU member states three years ago, called for the halving of global poverty levels and the reverse of the spread of HIV.
