Water treatment plant officially opened

The new waste water management scheme to improve water quality in Dublin Bay has been officially opened in Ringsend.

The €300m facility, funded by the EU and the Department of the Environment, is the most advanced waste water treatment plans in the world.

The Government has claimed that it will help Dollymount, Sandymount and Merrion strands to meet national and European bathing standards.
