Civil servants 'told to hide bad news ahead of election'

The Government reportedly ordered civil servants in the Department of Education not to send any "bad news" letters to secondary schools in the months before last year's General Election.

Fine Gael said the revelation was included in documents received last month under the Freedom of Information Act.
