Union to express opposition to private terminal

Representatives from SIPTU's aviation branch are expected to outline their opposition to the building of a private terminal at Dublin Airport during a meeting with the Dail transport committee today.

Representatives from SIPTU's aviation branch are expected to outline their opposition to the building of a private terminal at Dublin Airport during a meeting with the Dáil transport committee today.

SIPTU has described the proposed terminal as an "ideological experiment in privatisation" with huge safety and security implications for an airport on which tens of thousands of workers rely.

The union is also expected to outline its opposition to the privatisation of Aer Rianta during today's meeting.
