Inaction putting children at risk, claim charities

Thousands of children in care remain at risk of abuse because of the State's failure to implement proper vetting procedures for those working with them, it was claimed today.

Barnardos and the ISPCC say despite a call last September for the measures to be put in place, no progress has been made.
