Poverty and inequality report launched

The Combat Poverty Agency and the Equality Authority have urged the Government to recognise the links between poverty and inequality when formulating new policies.

The call was contained in a report compiled by the two bodies.

Launching the document, Mary Coughlan, the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, claimed the Government already took poverty and inequality into account when formulating its policies.

She said the poverty and inequality report would make that job easier.
