ICTU to discuss support for striking doctors
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) is due to meet today to consider a request for support from striking public health doctors.
The Irish Medical Organisation has asked ICTU to call an all-out strike among its members in health board-related jobs in support of the public health doctors, who have been on strike for several weeks in pursuit of improved pay and conditions.
The IMO has accused the Health Service Employers Agency of failing to make any new proposals to resolve the dispute during seven hours of talks at the Labour Relations Commission three weeks ago.
