Man appears in court on tourist attack charge
An Australian man tonight appeared in court charged with assaulting two women tourists in Dublin city centre.
Michael Frith, 33, was charged with two counts of assault on the Welsh holidaymakers, who were on a weekend break in Ireland.
The victims, aged 64 and 48, suffered severe facial injuries in the incident as they walked to their hotel with their husbands on Sunday night.
Firth was arrested on O’Connell Street last night and appeared at Dublin District Court today.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the court again on Friday.
