Four killed in overnight road accidents

Four people have died in two separate road accidents in Co Donegal and Co Limerick.

Two men in their late 20s and early 30s died when the car they were travelling in hit a verge and overturned near Letterkenny just before 9pm last night.

The accident happened at Listillion, on the Letterkenny to Ballybofey road.

One of the victims died at the scene, while the second died a short time later in Letterkenny Hospital. Both were from the area.

In Limerick, meanwhile, two other people have died in a collision between a van and a car this morning between Pallasgreen and Dromkeen.

Two others are in a critical condition in hospital following the crash, which happened on the Limerick to Tipperary road at around 7.20am.

Gardai have warned that the road will be closed for a number of hours and have advised motorists to take an alternative route.
