Lithuanian in court over weekend stabbings

A man is to appear in court today in connection with two stabbings in Dublin on Saturday night.

One of the stabbings was fatal.

A 24-year-old Lithuanian man was stabbed in the Earlsford Drive area of Lucan and later died.

A 32-year-old man was also injured and taken to James Connolly memorial hospital where he is believed to be in a serious condition.

Gardaí arrested a 23-year-old Lithuanian man in connection with the stabbings soon after the incident.

He is due to appear before Kilmainham District Court at half past ten.
