Gardaí in Dublin have today launched a murder inquiry after a Lithuanian man in his mid-20s was stabbed to death last night.

Gardaí in Dublin have today launched a murder inquiry after a Lithuanian man in his mid-20s was stabbed to death last night.

The 24-year-old Lithuanian man, who was stabbed in Lucan at around 10pm last night, died in hospital.

Another man, aged 32, was injured and taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, where he was said to be in a serious condition.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with both stabbings and was being held at Ronanstown garda station.

He was being questioned under section four of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardaí preserved the scene for technical investigations, and Deputy State Pathologist Marie Cassidy was due to perform a post-mortem examination.
