NI police chiefs seek monitoring of Ombudsman's work
The North's Superintendents' Association has urged the British government to appoint an oversight commissioner to monitor the work of Ombudsman Nuala O'Loan.
Stephen Grange, the head of the association, said police commanders lack confidence in the complaints procedure run by Ms O'Loan.
"This matter can only be resolved by putting in place a complaints mechanism whereby individual officers who feel aggrieved about the conduct of the Ombudsman's office can have their grievances heard with confidence," he said.
