SIPTU members strike at radio station

Nine members of SIPTU have gone on strike at the Shannonside/Northern Sound radio network in a dispute over two redundancies in the company's sales and administration division.

Nine members of SIPTU have gone on strike at the Shannonside/Northern Sound radio network in a dispute over two redundancies in the company's sales and administration division.

The company has blamed the cuts on restructuring and says its broadcasts are unaffected.

It is calling on the union to enter talks in the row. The network broadcasts to Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim.
