Man in hospital after Limerick shooting

A man is in a serious but stable condition at Limerick Regional Hospital following a shooting incident in the city last night.

Gardaí believe the shooting was not directly linked to the feud between the Ryan and the Keane family in Limerick city.

The man, in his late 20s was shot in the chest at the Moyross Estate in the city at approximately 11pm.

An armed unit was dispatched to preserve the scene of the attack in advance of a full technical examination of the area later today.
