Dublin Bus strike 'inevitable', say workers

Dublin Bus workers say a strike is inevitable in the next 10 days over plans to privatise part of the company's routes.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan is expected to announce on Wednesday that he plans to privatise up to 25% of Dublin Bus routes.

The National Bus and Rail Workers Union claims this would be in breach of an agreement between the union and management.

A ballot of workers is due to be concluded on Wednesday and is expected to be overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action.
