Wind farm opened on Wexford site

The ESB has opened a wind farm on a Co Wexford site which was once proposed as a location for a nuclear power plant.

The company said the new facility would generate enough electricity for 10,000 homes.

Spokesman Kevin McDermott said the wind farm would be located in Carnsore, where the Government was once planning to build a nuclear power station.

That station never materialised due to widespread public protests.
